5 Reasons to Become a Birth Partner
Volunteering your time is a really generous way to be involved with and improve your community. In this blog post, we’ll look at the benefits of volunteering as a birth partner.
Learn new skills
All volunteers are required to attend several days of intensive training. We offer further opportunities throughout the year from experts across many fields as well as ongoing supervision and debriefs.
Support your community
Volunteers support installs confidence in new mums and their young children to integrate into their communities, build friendships and learn new skills.
Become an advocate!
If you're passionate about human rights and/or reproductive justice, we work directly at the intersection of these issues. You can be part of the change you want to see
Care for birthing people
Our support is non-medical; we value 'soft' skills such as good listening. Your support can inform a positive experience and outcomes for mums and their babies
Make new friends and connections
You'll be supported every step of the way by our staff while you work closely with other committed volunteers, alongside related organizations and health professionals.
